The Speech

Good morning respected teachers and my dear friends,

Today I am going to speak about the festival of Uttarayan, also known as Makar Sankranti.

Uttarayan marks the day when the Sun begins its journey towards the north. This brings longer days, warmth, and happiness. It is an important festival because it reminds us of the close relationship between nature and human life.

In states like Gujarat, people celebrate Uttarayan by flying colorful kites. The kites flying high in the sky remind us to dream big and stay positive. Families come together, share sweets made of sesame and jaggery, and spread love and kindness.

Uttarayan also teaches us to be thankful—to the Sun, to farmers, and to nature for giving us food and life.

Let us celebrate this festival by spreading joy, helping others, and always speaking sweet words.

Thank you and Happy Uttarayan!
